Whatever the season, you'll find something to do in our neck of the woods! With dozens of lakes and miles of green forests it is a mecca for the outdoorsman and his family. Photo opportunities are everywhere for the camera buff. There is a variety of game including deer, elk, bear, mountain sheep and goats, cougar, partridge, pheasant and other game birds. The river and many lakes are a natural habitat for osprey, geese, duck, crane, heron and the mighty eagle.

Visit the Pend Oreille County Historical Museum.  Located on 4th Street, at the foot of Washington Avenue, the museum encompasses the I&WN Railroad Depot and grounds.  Many of the items displayed have a local history and have been generously donated to the museum. Among these are toys, kitchenware, tools, mineral displays, quilts, military items, Native-American artifacts, local business items, and early furniture. The gift shop features books on local history and memorabilia for sale, as well as cards, children’s activities books and local handcrafted items.  The Museum is open daily from 10:00 to 4:00 starting May 1st through mid-October. Contact the museum at (509) 447-5388, or on their wed site at www.pocmuseum.org

A short 40 minute drive will find you and your family having the time of your life at Silverwood Theme Park ~ and if you're very brave, you might try a ride on TREMORS ~ the above & below ground wooden roller coaster.

For those who are a little less adventurous, a 40 minute drive in another direction will find you face to face with some "big kitties" at Cat Tales Zoological Park & Training Center. Let the kids pet & even feed the babies! You'll see cats ranging from the Bobcat of North America, to the mighty Royal White Bengal Tiger of India.
